I am against all government welfare for the benefit of corporations. As a Lenoir City Council member, I was the only local elected official to vote against the massive Google incentives. I will vote against the Broyhill payouts as well. While I am glad Google is here and Broyhill is staying, I believe the best way for government to attract people and be "business friendly" is to reduce taxes, spending, and regulations so that everyone is treated fairly and left to invest and spend their money the way they see fit. As my City Council slogan has been, "He Knows It's Your Money." I oppose involuntary annexation and will support every attempt to curtail, impose a moratorium, or eliminate forced annexation by cities, towns and villages. I was originally elected to the City Council in part because I was involuntarily annexed into the City of Lenoir. My neighbors and I fought the case all the way to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. I will continue the fight in the State House Chambers in Raleigh. I support a constitutional amendment to prevent the government from condemning your property and giving it to a big corporation to put a building on. It’s your land, and if you want to live there and not sell, that is your right as an American and a North Carolinian. As a practicing attorney with 14 years of experience in the criminal courts of North Carolina, I see every day how the power of the police has curtailed our individual right to be free of illegal searches and seizures. I will seek to roll back such violations of individual liberties, so as to allow us again to be safe in our persons and our property. Please visit my blog for more information regarding my platform, views, and the ways I'll represent Caldwell County, Gamewell, Granite Falls, Hudson, Lenoir, and Sawmills in Raleigh! Vote for T.J. Rohr on November Four - He Knows It's YOUR MONEY! |
